Maple Bluff Beach - Lake Mendota

DIRECTIONS:
Located off Sherman Avenue in the Village of Maple Bluff.
DESCRIPTION:
The Maple Bluff Beach area was originally the site of the Kurtz and Huegel Ice Company's ice cutting business. A nearby railroad spur made quick shipment of the ice to southern states.

Village of Maple Bluff Parks and Recreation staff monitors Maple Bluff beach. In 2009, it is estimated that the beach was closed for a total of 45 days, usually based on the color of the water. The beach also closed if nearby Warner or Tenney beaches were closed.
